This 1.0LT square clip top jar is an updated version of the iconic Kilner jar, first invented by John Kilner & Co in the 1840's. The design has stood the test of time for over 150 years and the modern version is barely different from the iconic original, still maintaining its unique vacuum feature, the rubber sealed clip top glass lid.
Clip top jars are perfect for preserving jams, chutneys or reslishes, although they can also be used for pickling eggs, onions or garlic and are even sometimes used for storing dry foods, such as pasta or rice. Traditional looking with an orange seal and the "Kilner" logo embossed on the front of the glass, these jars would complement a farmhouse or country style kitchen, and also make a lovely gift that can be used again and again.
