Homemade Lemonade Recipe

We hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Did you know it was actually national lemon day on May 1st? This gives us ample opportunity to share with you one of our favourite family recipes, our Mum’s Homemade Lemonade.

As little ones we didn’t really drink fizzy pop unless it was a birthday party or special occasion, instead we had home-made lemonade as a treat. Trust us when we say, homemade is SO much better than the store bought stuff. You can tweak it exactly to your taste adding more or less sugar or even a dash of cayenne pepper if you fancy a little fiery kick. We promise you, this stuff is so delicious that you won’t want the store bought stuff again!

This recipe is ideal for whipping up on a sunny morning, it’s a super easy crowd pleaser that takes just minutes to throw together. Plus, you can keep a close eye on exactly how much sugar you or your kids are having.

This Lemonade is deserving of a beautiful new serving jug, you can check out our collection here.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Lemons
  • 200g Caster Sugar
  • 1.4l Water

Method:

  1. Firmly roll your lemons between your hand and your counter top, this makes the juicing much easier!
  2. Slice in half your lemons and squeeze the juice through a sieve into your jug.
  3. Add your sugar and water to the jug and mix to combine. You can adjust this to taste.
  4. Pop in the fridge for around an hour then serve over ice. Don’t forget to garnish with a lemon slice.

We hope you enjoyed this deliciously easy homemade lemonade recipe. Let us know in the comments if you try this one.
