Our Spin on ‘Brew’ Monday

You have probably heard of ‘Blue Monday’, the supposed most depressing day of the year also known as the third Monday in January. We have never been fans of the concept of Blue Monday, why should a random Monday be a sad one? What happens if you wake up feeling light hearted and positive, is this ignorant of you?

Luckily, the good Samaritans have started a campaign called ‘Brew Monday’. Started to encourage helpful communication, the Samaritans are encouraging people to reach out to loved ones and have a conversation over a cup of tea or coffee.

The Samaritans dispute the claims of Blue Monday, stating that mental health and emotional well-being are not determined by the calendar. Instead, they believe that it is important to connect with others and have conversations any day of the year.

That’s why, on January 16th, the Samaritans encourage everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people you care about. Whether it’s a Monday morning or a Saturday night, the important thing is to make time for each other and have a conversation.

We at Silver Mushroom couldn’t agree more. We believe that a home should be a sanctuary, a place where you truly love to spend time. And what better way to create a warm and welcoming home than by inviting loved ones over for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat? As the old saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved.

That’s why we’re joining the Brew Monday campaign and encouraging you to do the same. Whether you’re drinking green tea, black coffee, or orange juice, the important thing is to share a cuppa and listen. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the kitchen, the living room, or even on the phone. The important thing is to make time for each other and connect.

So, this Brew Monday, reach out to your family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones. Let’s start a conversation and create a warm and welcoming home, one cuppa at a time.

Don’t forget, if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, remember that you can always reach out to the Samaritans for help and support. They’re available 24/7 and can be reached at 116 123 (UK) or via email at [email protected].
