We won’t rant about it, we’ll keep things nice and simple. We are excited to announce that for the 3rd year running we will not be participating in Black Friday. The concept doesn’t align with our personal or professional morals
There will be no crazy sale on our website with major discounts. We don’t want to contribute to the mass consumerism associated with Black Friday. When you shop with Silver Mushroom we want you to fall in love with your purchases, to cherish them for years to come, not to ‘buy them for the sake of buying them’.
Instead of Black Friday we will be running our annual ‘Silver Sunday‘ event.
To give back during our busiest time of the year, we wanted to use our platform to do some good for the world and those who need it. This coming Sunday the 27th, we will be donating a percentage of all sales to a charity that is very close to our hearts. This year we have partnered up with Lancashire Women in a bid to support their winter campaign.
The wonderful team at Lancashire Women are running a Pamper Parcel campaign to give to the ladies they support this Christmas. This time of year can be incredibly tough for everybody, especially families, with bills rising and temperatures falling women can often feel they have nowhere to turn. Lancashire Women are a hub for women in need all over the country. They offer beds for the homeless and support for ladies who may be suffering from mental ill-health, as well as a full range of services for any vulnerable women.
This is a small gesture, but we hope it can bring joy to those who find them selves in a dark place this Christmas. We encourage you to also give a little to those who really need it this year.
We are still open for business and we appreciate each and every order we receive. We hope you understand our reasoning for not participating in the sales this year. By shopping with us this coming Sunday you can feel good about the fact that you too are supporting the wonderful work undertaken by the Lancashire Women Organisation.
