Denby Pottery est 1809
Denby’s handcrafted stoneware is made from the strongest Derbyshire Clay. When it comes to durability, their stoneware is the stuff of legends. That is why the brand have been producing pottery for over 200 years. With a passion for quality and beautiful design, Denby pride them selves on the strength and exceptional craftsmanship of their pottery. The company still source their super strong clay from the original location, behind their Derbyshire factory, as they did centuries ago. With time-honoured skills and traditions, the potters turn the clay into the iconic Denby pieces that we know and love.
For generations back, artists in Derbyshire became pottery pioneers when they used their skills to turn strong clay into the famous Denby collections we love today. Denby are proud that their skills and attention to detail are still very much alive. They now have over 5000 glazes and a growing range of distinctive colours, shapes and patterns – all hand finished, so no piece is ever exactly the same. In fact, only after being passed through 25 pairs of hands is each piece then awarded the Denby seal of approval.
Today Denby continue to go from strength to strength, crafting timeless collections that exude English heritage and seeking out current trends to create modern ones.
