We are proud to introduce our brand new range- Studio Blue by Denby. The perfect range of stoneware, inspired by the colours and textures of natural stones and minerals, Studio Blue epitomises the craftsmanship that Denby pride themselves upon. Each piece in the collection is made from quality Derbyshire clay, when it comes to durability, Studio Blue stoneware is the stuff of legends. It is this durability that has kept Denby producing pottery for over 200 years. With a passion for quality and beautiful design, Denby pride them selves on the strength and exceptional craftsmanship of their pottery. The company still source their super strong clay from the original location, behind their Derbyshire factory, as they did centuries ago. With time-honoured skills and traditions, the potters turn the clay into the iconic Denby pieces that we know and love.
For generations back, artists in Derbyshire became pottery pioneers when they used their skills to turn strong clay into the famous Denby collections we love today. Denby are proud that their skills and attention to detail are still very much alive. They now have over 5000 glazes and a growing range of distinctive colours, shapes and patterns – all hand finished, so no piece is ever exactly the same. In fact, only after being passed through 25 pairs of hands is each piece then awarded the Denby seal of approval.
Today Denby continue to go from strength to strength, crafting timeless collections that exude English heritage and seeking out current trends to create modern ones.
The Studio Blue range is inspired by the trend for a more natural aesthetic , blending four gorgeous neutral tones that work together to create a tonal range fit for any home. This quality stoneware collection, which is made in Derbyshire England, features a range of bowls, plates and platters designed with laid-back dining and entertaining in mind. The range combines four tonal glazes inspired by the colours and textures found in stone and minerals.
This collection is designed to complement a variety of global foods. It includes a wide range of bowls in various shapes and sizes, ideal for pasta, ramen and rice dishes, to reflect the nation’s continuing love of bowl food. Additional items include the coupe dinner plate, oil bottle with cork stopper and cheese platter, which can complement existing tableware to create a stylishly laid-back setting.
Nicola Wilson Senior Designer at Denby, says “The colours and textures of pebbles and natural stones such as flint, shale and chalk have been the inspiration behind Studio Blue. We have created glazes that evoke the different surfaces found in these minerals, combining them to create a harmonious range.”
