Wimbledon

Wimbledon, the world’s oldest tennis tournament starts this Monday. The competition first began in 1877 which means that this year the grand old tournament celebrates its 140th birthday. Wimbledon is truly a part of Britain’s heritage and epitomises some age-old English traditions that we can all be proud of.

The Wimbledon Championships are truly synonymous with the Great British summer, so what could be better than hosting your very own Wimbledon-themed garden party? Why not make your own Pimms this year in this fantastic Kilner 8 Litre Dispenser and serve it to your guests in these gorgeous Kilner Handled Jars? Did you know that on average, the crowds visiting Wimbledon drink 320,000 glasses of Pimms throughout the competition? That’s a lot of Pimms.. even by the standards of the Great British public. Just make sure you don’t try to keep up with the 110,000 pints or the 29,000 bottle of champagne that are drank each year or you might wake up with a very sore head!

Strawberries and cream are a pairing said to be as old as the tournament itself, which means it’s no surprise that every year Wimbledon-goers consume 140,000 servings of strawberries and 10,000 litres of cream, with an average of 10 strawberries per serving, that means that 1.4 million Grade I English strawberries are devoured by hungry tennis fans every year! Strawberries and cream are therefore a garden party essential, so why not present them individually in these quirky Kilner Clip Top Jars? The best strawberries in the country are arguably harvested in Kent, so make sure you source them well!
